how do i stop google chrome and firefox from redirecting my searches to scour etc

i know this is posted here somewhere but i can't seem to get a hit with the search...
anyway i finally cleaned up everything with rkill and malwarebytes and now i have that stupid redirect problem
(when i search and press a link in google chrome or firefox it redirects me to scour or a similar site)
i fixed it once (or malwarebytes did but this time its being stubborn)
any help is appreciated
