“Error: MM6.EXE – Application Error

The instruction at “0x01b53d70” referenced memory at “0x00000000”. The

memory could not be “read”.

Click on OK to terminate the program.”: OK

This message has appeared periodically on my computer and I wonder if that is why some revisions (that I know were made) did not always show up in finalized documents.

The operating system is XP with 3Gb Ram

Any suggestions?

From what I see, that file is possible malware. I will move you to the appropriate forum for a deeper look by qualified Staff personnel :).
