Hi. I'm new to Win 7 and am having some difficulty adjusting from XP. I'm the only user and don't need it password protected. I'm finding I'm saving some files under my username and some under "public." This is driving me nuts and I'd like only one place for everything. Right now my music is in username and doesn't appear in the public listing. My pictures and my documents appear in both.

Also, on my laptop when I go to start/computer/ (or start/username) under favorites it shows desktop. On my desktop computer it doesn't show "desktop". I wonder why. I like saving certain things to desktop and then sorting them as needed. Is there a way to create a default for this?
