I have been infected with personal security 2011. have tried to follow instructions from isp provider. But when starting combofix was told to remove avg free. so i was unable to do that with add and remove in control panel. I used revo uninstall which seemed to work but avg still is everywhere. Ran windows search and it is still running and has found over 2800 files with it attached. I am curious what I should do now. windows XP professional sp3

Try using AppRemover . Sometimes it is better to reinstall Avg and then remove it.
Please do noy run ComboFix on your own. If needed we will work with you. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer.

Please follow our Removal Guide here Remove Personal Internet Security 2011 .
You will move to the Automated Removal Instructions

After you completed that, post your scan log here, let me know how things are.
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
