no sure if im in the right place here or not. i did a search and it looks like alot of "black screen" threads are in the trojan forum but im not so sure thats what it is. anyway, if this is in the wrong place sorry and feel free to move it.

i have an acer 1640 using windows xp that all of a sudden started up with a black screen. it starts and i get the acer screen and can get the f2 option but thats it. as soon as it goes past the acer screen, nothing! tried control alt delete, holding power button down to restart, taking the battery out, etc and still the same thing, just a black screen. im lost and have no idea where to go from here. please let me know if you have any ideas that i can try out. thank you

Can you boot into Safe Mode, F8.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
