This is our first post to your informative forum. Have been watching for awhile. We have been "in" to computers for about ten years as a retirement hobby, and that has spilled over into a computer ministry the last three or four years performing maintenance, minor repairs, upgrading memory and installations for many of the older members of our church, and for friends and family. We do not charge except for parts when needed. It has been a blessing to us and keeps us off the streets.

We are running two computers: 1) Dell Dimension 4600, P4,2.8Ghz, 512MB RAM, WINXP Home Edition; 2) DSI (S.F.,CA) custom-built P4,1.5Ghz, 640MB RAM, WINXP Home Edition upgrade from WINME; both with eTrust Anti-virus, plus Spy Sweeper and Spy-Bot updated every day.

We do have a problem with a computer at this time and we will be posting a message hopefully in the correct forum. Please forgive us for any inadvertent "slip-ups" or "no-no's".

Hope to have the chance to "meet" some fellow addicts.

Thank you for the welcome, Amy! And the cool graphics. Will have to learn more about the process of "fancy-ing up" our posts.

This pasted line was at the bottom of my first post: //Mod edit: To close BBcode tags
Can you tell me what that means?

Thanks and hope to talk again soon.

I sure can help you with the BBcode as I'm the Moderator that edited your post to close those tags.
That's what the //Mod edit:.... meant.

When one uses a tag one must then close each one for example [/font], otherwise the BBcode is not in effect.

BTW the size #7 is much to large to use. Choose 3 as I modified your first post, or 4.

Here is a nice tutorial written to help with the BB Code

In a few minutes I'll modify your last post also so you can see the difference.

That is a size #4 that I inserted there in place of your #7...

Thank you KoanYorel, for your welcome and your suggestions! I was hoping someone would tell me if I was doing something the wrong way. Let's see if we can do this a little more "legal-like."

Thank you for the welcome, JC. Love your "avatar". Must be Joshua? You will have to excuse our lack of experience, but we are working hard at learning.

Hope to talk to you again soon.
