I have a sick Dell Vistro that has picked up some malware and viruses. I think I discovered this site when I was browsing the Dell forums and saw a reference there from one of their support people. You can never have too many eyes on these virus and hijackers! The Dell site was extremely sluggish to scroll and navigate through. This site is much better!

Anyway, I have more than a passing acquaintance with computers. I'm the Engineer-in-Charge at a FOX television station where I interact with a lot of computers. All our video tape recorders have gradualy been replaced with servers that play out programming. I do hardware and network installations and software updates and troubleshooting. We don't have the virus and malware problem too much because we keep these systems isolated from the internet as much as possible.

I have been enjoying reading the troubleshooting processes other users with similar problems to mine have been going through. I'm learning a lot and gradually weeding through the problem on my computer. If it gets to be too much, I'll post for assistance, but I'm hoping that the clues I observe from others with similar problems might get me through.

Please don't hesitate to post about your malware problem if you cannot find the solution quickly on your own. Malware has a habit of getting nastier with time.
