I just bought a new computer, with WIN 7 on it and I can't get my wireless adapter to hook up with my network. I have all the latest drivers so that isn't the issue,and the adapter I'm using is a Netgear WN111v2, and the router is an apple airport, so I though it might be a compatibly issue, but from what my error message said on it was;

Information for Connection ID 35
Connection started at: 2011-01-11 15:58:40-183
Auto Configuration ID: 33
Profile: VirtualProfile
SSID: Network
SSID length: 21
Connection mode: Infra
Security: Yes
Pre-Association and Association
Connectivity settings provided by hardware manufacturer (IHV): No
Security settings provided by hardware manufacturer (IHV): No
Profile matches network requirements: Success
Pre-association status: Success
Association status: Success
Last AP: 00-00-00-00-00-00
Security and Authentication
Configured security type: WPA2-PSK
Configured encryption type: CCMP(AES)
802.1X protocol: No
Key exchange initiated: Yes
Unicast key received: No
Multicast key received: No
Number of security packets received: 0
Number of security packets sent: 0
Security attempt status: Fail 0x00038012

so I was wondering if this was a compatibility issue or something else.

Are you getting any error message(s), when you try to connect?
Does wired connection work?
Are there any other computers connected to the same router?
Did you try to reset router?

the error message simply said it was unable to connect to the network, and I got the longer message by going into to the more technical information. though the error itself seems to be the seven lines on it

"Key exchange initiated: Yes
Unicast key received: No
Multicast key received: No
Number of security packets received: 0
Number of security packets sent: 0
Security attempt status: Fail 0x00038012"

I am unable to test wired connections due to having only one ethernet cord in the house being in the attic which hooks up to the router
all other computers in the house work fine being a PC with XP, a laptop with Vista, and two apple notebooks, and as for reseting the router yes I reset the router and modem

Go Start>Run ("Start search" in Vista and Win 7), type in:
cmd
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista and Win 7).

At Command Prompt, paste this:
ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepad c:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit
Hit Enter.

Copy and paste what you see in Notepad into a Reply here.

Login to your router setup page (using another computer) and make sure, that security settings there match security settings on your laptop.
You'll be looking especially at these two values:
Configured security type: WPA2-PSK
Configured encryption type: CCMP(AES)

yes all other computers in the household are connected as WPA2-PSK, and have AES encryption, I cannot access the router setup as it is handled by my roommate who I won't see until tomorrow at best.

Yeah, it'd be a good test to see, if you can connect, if the encryption is disabled.
It could also help, if you could get some ethernet cable and see, if wired connection work.
All that would give us more info.
