My ISP was down tonight and I still received my Windows update,

so I guess MS has it's own server, would that be correct ?

MS Has quite a few servers around the world, and what do you mean by your ISP was down? If your ISP was down then you couldnt connect to get the update.

Yeah, it was down, so I guess in that case it must have loaded before my ISP was down, that's the reason, I'm asking cause it was down before 10PM and till I guess about after 11PM, but when I got to my PC about 1:30 AM, I find it restarting after the D/L ?
My Windows updates are scheduled for 10PM everyday.

OH wait a minute I guess it dialed up after wards but hey it ain't suppose to do that all by itself, is it ?

Oh G-D I' may have left it in the re-dial mode.

Thank you.

How is Internet Explorer configured in the Connections Tab of Internet Options in Control Panel?

That crossed my mind that it might be possible that MS using
IE may have D/L with there own server on my connected Lan Line, but it for some reason doesn't look that way.

Then your ISP was not down. It was up and running the entire time. MS and many other applications use Internet Explorer's Internet Option Connection Settings.

Not the entire time but must have redialed somehow, cause I kept getting a busy signal when it dialed I tried to call the ISP, on the phone it was busy, I called the alternate number, (same ISP,different location), and it was busy to, I called the help desk it was also busy, this remained that way from some time after 5 PM today, so I am sure it was down.

I think I may have left it in the redial mode.
