I did a scan with AVG free that showed I had downloaded a trojan. AVG ran clean after that. I then ran a Malwarebytes scan which showed 4 trojans. MB dealt with the issue.
I then ran SuperAntSpyware and got a clean scan. Having run clear AVG, SuperAntiSpyware and MB scans I uninstalled AVG and installed Avast and ran a scan with it.
Avast has now given me the message "Contains recognition pattern of the SPR/Tool.PassView.XA program".
The program has quarantined the file but I am now generally concerned about the safety of my machine.
I'm wondering how serious this message, is and is there anything else I can do to catch any other trojans/viruses?
Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully received.
