Explorer--not Responding

I am having problems using win 98 . pc stops working and message that explorer--not responding. Have run scan disk defrag and used Go Back. Nothing helped.

Does it work in safe mode? Try START>RUN>MSCONFIG>STARTUP>uncheck everything. If this work, we can start adding items back until we determine if it is a program conflick.
What type of antivirus and antispyware are you running? Are your programs up to date?
