I am completely new to all of this. I have always just used my Norton. I'll get rid of these infections and the next day they are back. I don't know the source? Norton on 12/09/05 found
1. mxjkfre.exe
2. CMSystem.exe
3. WinNB57.dll
4. WinDmy.dll
5. W32.Mytob.AR@mm
6. W32.Netsky.AN@mm

I've lost my whole network and just have my laptop left. It's a real mess.
Here is my HJ Log on my laptop. I hope I can save it. Any help would be appreciated. I do know my way around windows and such.

New file. When I used the killbox in safe mode I could not copy paste into the directory to kil the files. when I typed them in killbox found no files. Is that what should have happened?

With IE closed, run Hijack This again.
Put a checkmark on these entries and hit "fix checked":

 Boot into Safe Mode
By pressing the F8 key right when Windows starts, usually right after you hear your computer
beep when you reboot it (some versions of windows will display 'Starting Windows' with a grey progress bar)
you will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Now put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
Click Yes.
Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\WINDOWS\ndyzhqvh.dll
_________

Reboot back to normal mode.
_________

:flowers: Click Here to do a Panda online scan
  • If it asks you install active x controls click Yes
  • If a box comes up telling you to install the program also click Yes
  • Make sure you tick Disinfect automatically under Scan Options
  • Complete the scan and post the log that you can save afterwards in the same way you did the HJT log.
  • It is normal for it to take a reasonable time to complete
Please post back with a new HJT log and the panda log

is it saying these are infected or is it reporting these programs as the virus. My win media player does not work for some reason and is that your killbox or is it something else.

Download killbox from here:

KillBox

Unzip the folder to your desktop.

1. Start Killbox.exe
2. Select the Delete on Reboot option.
3. Copy the complete text in bold below to the clipboard by highlighting the filepaths and pressing Control + C:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER\wmplayer.exe.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.ini
C:\Documents and Settings\The King\Desktop\backups\backup-20051212-020038-487.dll
C:\WINDOWS\offun.exe
C:\WINDOWS\zqsnjtjk.dll

4. Go to the File menu of Killbox, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
5. Click the Delete File button that is a red-and-white X. When asked if you want to delete these files say Yes. When asked if you want to reboot now, say No.
6. Exit Killbox.

The Panda scan identifies virus's and spyware; you have to pay to delete them, so we do it for you using a good program!

When did the win media player problems arise?

WinMedia Stopped working back when I had Netsky about 6mths ago. I never use it so I gave it no concern. It seems that this last killbox did it. My IE finally doesnt have blank buttons and my search engine is working correctly. Network boot is active. How is it that we pay or I pay 100.00 for norton and it can't get rid of the problems. 6 months ago I had netsky, and something that kept putting a eied.cab file on my computer. Norton could not fix it. I actually just got tired of trying to fix it and completely stripped my 5 main computers and went from the ground up. Microsoft gave me a hell of a time on the OS installs but they saw it my way in the end. So whats next. Everything look good with kijack this? ?? I downloaded killbox from the read this before page. I also tried panda from there but just didn't get anywhere. Is the links bad or was I doing it wrong??

The HijackThis log is looking clean now

I'm not too sure what you mean when you said this earlier:

is it saying these are infected or is it reporting these programs as the virus. My win media player does not work for some reason and is that your killbox or is it something else.

Now that i have cleaned my computer my norton liveupdate says it cant update due to not knowing which live update to update. It tells me to reinstall my norton. If I have to do so how do I save the updates so I dont have to download again. I am on a 65k mod and it takes awhile. Does that make since.

Go to this website. Use the downloads feature at the top of the page. Then scroll down to liveupdate and download and then install the latest version(2.7), which should solve your problem. When you set up Norton be sure to use the Symantec Liveupdate settings that are in the control panel. I suggest that you use the express mode. then set the appropriate security settings.

let me know how it goes.
