I currently have a macbook pro but I want my old PC laptop to become a junk computer but a fast one, its an Acer Aspire 5570z, runs windows vista and was built around 2007. I want to replace the RAM and the hard drive with more powerful ones since the current hardware is not handling my use.

I currently have two factory RAM chips, description: Hynix 512MB 2Rx16 PC2-5300S-555-12 / HYMP564S64CP6-Y5 AB

My hardrive is currently a 160 GB Western Digital Scorpio WD1600BEVS-22RSTO
Drive Parameters: LBA 312581808

What should I replace these two components with to make it a decent computer?
Thanks!

The easiest way to increase the performance of a computer is to add more RAM. Acer has two RAM slots which can hold one 1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 per slot.

Replacing the hdd isn't going to improve your performance.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
