I don't have the google desktop or search bar or whatever you call it. If I get to google via Firefox and later want to clear the history so that I don't get any dropdown menu showing prior search terms, I can do that by going to Firefox>Options>Privacy and clearing Saved Forms; I also clear history and cache and cookies but I don't think I need to do that to clear the google dropdown history.
But if I go to google via IE, I don't know how to clear that google dropdown history. I'm told that if I have the google desktop search box, or whatever you call it, I can use that to a button which clears that google history, but I don't have that. I have the msn desktop program instead. If I click on the MSN in the toolbar at the top, the resulting dropdown menu includes a button for clearing history, but that does not clear the google history.
When I search google using the terms "clear google history", I get a number of entries which apparently provide programs for clearing google history, but I can't imagine that google doesn't provide a way to do this without installing a special program.
I"ve tried a number of supposed ways to do this but none of them work. For example, highlighting the first entry in the dropdown menu and clicking Delete; that does not do it for me. Clearing history for both IE and Firefox using cccleaner doesn't do it.
Anyone know how I can clear google history so that I will not get a dropdown menu showing recent google search entries?
