I hope I am posting this in the correct place.

My Laptop is a HP Compaq nc6000 (pretty old and bashed yeah!!)

I am sure it has viruses and is generally a mess all round.

I have a windows XP SP3 disc but I don't have any other discs like a specific boot disc etc.

I would be grateful if someone could give me some pointers on reformatting my Laptop please.

I can find the drivers on the HP website however I have no idea what order to install them in.

Any assistance gladly received.

Many Thanks

Windows CD is bootable, so you put the CD in and restart computer.
You should see this message:
Press any key to boot from CD
Press any key to continue the process.
Nice manual: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

As for drivers, always install chipset driver first. After that, it doesn't matter, which one goes next.
