Not listed in "My Computer". New hardware detection shows no result.

Green work-light blinks all time.

Downloaded and ran firmware - no actual device found message.

Please help. :santa:

Is using this hotfix from Microsoft - a standard way to fix an unresponsive ODD?

The worklight blinks for a long time now, I'm worrying.

not sure what you men by standard way,but it is one way ,did you try running it to see if it will fix it .
you may just need to throw it away and buy a new one ,people have to do that all the time
