I have never been able to complete a System Restore on Vista Ultimate, although at times it does seem that some changes are made. It goes through the process, but after rebooting, I get an error message (see attachment). Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change? Thanks, JT

Is there any particular reason, you need to use system restore at this moment?

Also, try system restore from safe mode.

Not at this moment, but I'd sure like it to be working when the moment I do need it arrives.

System Restore saved me several times when I had XP, and I'd like to know it's available to do the same with Vista.

Did you?

Also...

I highly recommend, you use Erunt: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/ as system restore supplement.
Manual: http://pcug.org.au/boesen/ERUNT/ERUNT.htm
In my opinion, it's better, then System Restore, and I use it on all my Windows versions.
