Hi

I have recently been infected with TR/PATCHED.GEN

when I startup my computer, after login into my windows account, I have my antivirus popping up warnings that :

winlogon.exe
explorer.exe

are infected and it can't login completely to my session, it stays to the popup from Antivir

I have windows XP Home Edition
I am using AVIRA Anitivir antivirus

I wanted to deactivate the Antivirus, by Starting in SAFE MODE, but even that way, I went to that blue windows password page, typed my password and then still got my antivirus warning...

Is there any way you can help me ?

Kind Regards

D Troy

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Hello,

Looks like your question has been rendered moot as I see you have posted a new topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic370440.html and I see that it has been picked up.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
