Wuauclt.exe is a process managing automatic updates for Windows. This process continuously checks for the latest updates by going online. This process should not be removed if you want to get informed about new updates.

The original file from Microsoft gets placed in the Located at C:\WINDOWS\System32\wuauclt.exe . If you find it anywhere else then it might be malicious.

In looking around, I did not see anybody that seemed to know. One of Microsoft's little mysteries.

There should only be one running. I suspect that the other is a Trojan called Cult or Cult-B (but I'm not an expert at these things).

First, I'd do a couple of the following free online scans:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ - *For Internet Explorer*
http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/consumer/h...call_launch.php - *For Firefox*
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://safety.live.com/site/en-US/default.htm
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default...id=ie&venid=sym
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm
http://onlinescan.avast.com/
http://support.f-secure.com/ols/start.html
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx

Next, do these free online trojan scans

http://scan.sygatetech.com/pretrojanscan.html
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/trojanscan.asp

Then, if that doesn't fix it go to this forum ( http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/ ), read the directions carefully, and post an HJT log for review by the experts.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I dont think that just because the process is listed twice it is bad. Technically a process can be verified by windows to launch twice if it isnt absolutely needed. Try right clicking and ending the process to see if you get any errors or if it trys to restart. If you cant, go control panel>> automatic updated>> and disable the automatic updates. Then after reboot your pc, and see if you still have any.
