I ran the ComboFix application during the process it noted an infection in the Win Login and successfully repaired it, it then noted a problem in Windows Explorer but there was no confirmation on a successful repair. It then completed all the stages and went to reboot.

Upon restarting the computer gives a Windows error and wants to send report to Microsoft. The error is for Windows Explorer problem. The image is there for the background but no icons for anything.

What to do now? THX
Jeff

Hi

It sounds as though your explorer.exe has been removed and there is no suitable replacement on the machine.

I've asked a mod to move this topic to malware removal:

first I need you to answer some questions

What operating system is this (with the current Service Pack installed)

Do you have access to your installation disk where we can get a copy of explorer.exe

If not do you have access to another machine with the same operating system, where you can get a copy of explorer.exe onto a USB (it must be the exact same OS)
