I'm trying to format the hard drive on my Pavilion 761c. According to HP's support website, the files to reinstall Windows XP are on a separate partition and I can use HP's System Recovery program to wipe clean and start from scratch. Problem is, I can't find the program. It's not in my Start menu like the website says it should be and I haven't been able to find it in the Program Files folder or by doing a search. I tried initiating it from the boot-up screen, but when I press F10, nothing happens; Windows just starts like normal. I can access the BIOS menu. Would it be possible to somehow access System Recovery from there? Or does anyone know a command I can type in the command prompt? Otherwise I'm going to have to pay for the discs from HP. Ugh.
