How To Repair Win Xp, Will I Loose My Documents/music?

i messed up my msconfig by disableing them, ad some one replied to repair useing winxp disc,

my question here is will i loose my files, music, documents, programs etc............??????????????????

please help me i must know

No you wont lose everything as long as its just a "repair install"

To do a repair with a windows xp disk, go past the first screen that asks if you want to use the repair console. The next choice will be to reinstall or repair. Choose repair at that point.

If at all possible, back up the files you don't want to lose before doing this, just to be safe. If you can't do a back up, then the repair option should preserve files and settings if everything goes right.

Backup everything anyway - just to be safe!
