Can anyone recommend ONE piece of software that can do all of the following. I don't mind to pay if it really works but would prefer free if Possible:

1.) Edit/Merge video. IE- I have a bunch of holiday videos I need to edit and then merge together into one video.

2.) Edit audio. I have a number of music clips I need to edit and string together as one music file.

3.) Edit photo's. I just need something to do basic photo editing.

I don't need real advanced features. Just some basic functions as I described above. If anyone knows of any one piece of software recommendations would be much appreciated. If there isn't one piece of software that works any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.:)

I think this might help a lot: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic366982.html

I don't know about any of the free video editors, as I usually use Sony Vegas.
For audio, Audacity is free and pretty good with audio clips.

I can't think of one program that does all of these, but there probably is something I don't know of.

1. If you have a Mac, iMovie is pretty good for basic video editing as you've described. For the PC, Windows Movie Maker is good for basic video editing, but I've run into issues with it crashing on long videos.

2. Audacity is free and cross-platform audio editor. The LAME mp3 encoder allows you to export the edited Audacity file directly to an mp3 file.

3. Google's Picasa does some pretty good photo editing, for free.

Jason

I dont think you will find a package that does all three. Virtual Dub can edit/merge .avi files.
Take a look here lots of useful stuff with guides.

Don't know if there's any "one" program to do all, but . . .

I just saw the Sony Imagination Studio at BJ's wholesale. It had Sony Vegas Platinum HD 10 video editor, Soundforge 10 audio editor, DVD Architect, Acid, and more for $99, that's a bargain!!! The website says it's not available, but I saw several copies at my local BJ's store.
Makes me wish I had a PC, instead of a Mac. LOL

For merging videos, cutting out footage (MPEG-2) try Projectx, Mpeg2schnitt (AC3 MP2 only), (Free don't expect much)

Audacity, for audio (Free)

For photos try Gimp or Irfanview. (Free)

Sony Vegas Pro. Depends on what you mean by photo editing. Vegas can crop, color correct. Try it. 30 day fully functional download.
Will do all.
