I recently got a new wireless-N router supplied by Rogers Canada. The previous wireless-G router was not fast but reliable (in terms of ping stability), however this one spikes all the time. how can i improve it? could it be the positioning of the router itself? its currently located a half story below and about 10-15m away through one closed door. It is placed near a window away from any electrical currents or magnets. please help, thanks in advance

The model of my router is: SMCD3GN
