Using the specs you mentioned it is pretty decent. It depends what kind of gaming you do and the games you play. I would recommend you buy your laptop from NewEgg which you can get pretty sweet deals.

My budget is ~$600, what specs should I look for at Newegg?

For the budget you can get an i3 but if you set your budget to $700 to $750 you can get a i5 with some decent graphics.
