Windows backup icon constantly shows in the notification area. Says "backup in progress". Cannot hide it, disable it, and backup in control panel does not show a backup schedule and most options are grayed out for notification bar and backup. I suspect a program I installed "whenever" may have affected(not INfected) the settings or options. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here is how to post a screenshot, but I know which icon you're talking about now. I just wanted to make sure that was the one you are talking about, and not some other rogue program mimicking a backup.

What happens when you reboot?

Nothing. The icon just "is there", Tells me a backup is in progress. When I explore all the options on a right click--Action center, troubleshoot or win update nothing shows a backup or downloads or anything. It just sits there talking $%&*())_. I've been to task bar and all that. Most options are grayed out and it appears all I can do is show all or hide all.. I'm a little fused here.

What are you using to save the screenshots? I would recommend using http://www.gimp.org to save your screenshots, and also what are you doing to take them?

nijah told me how to make a screenshot. I did that and was told repeatedly that it was too big for the forum. I addressed that at your other site. I would like help, but maybe I do not know the appropriate way to get it. I went to "my other site" and posted and have not received an answer or response. I can understand busy and you have a life. I was the first to post for operating sys. and have seen nothing. I sent an email and have heard nothing. I do not know what I should do.

Please understand that I believe my problem began with always installing "the next program" and somehow, I got screwed up. I just need to know. Reinstall/troubleshoot/get help/give up...etc. what is the best answer for me. I can follow directions but I do not know what those are.
