Right click on an empty portion of the task bar and go into properties. Is the check mark for Show Clock checked?

If not check it and see if the clock is back now

Clock.exe should not exist. So do not worry about that. Clock.exe only existed in earlier versions of Windows...not XP.

So the option is there, but is greyed out?

See if this helps please click HERE, scroll down to Toolbars Greyed Out or Missing & double click it. Save the reg file to your desktop and right click the file and choose merge. Now restart the computer & see if that resolves your problem. HTH
