Running Windows Vista 32

I noticed something was off when I restarted my PC recently.

I had done a malware scan because my Dad complained comcast was messaging him about there possibly being malware on his system. The scan revealed Widgibar (the searchsettings.exe) which is apparently a virus.

I tried to remove it with MBAM and it said to restart my PC to finish.

Well, when I did, I noticed a program came up saying "blocked startup programs" and it had blocked MBAM from working. It wouldn't let me restart the program. For some odd reason, windows defender also opened as well as some random messages.

My PC then informed me "user account control" had been turned off.

I recently went in to try and re-enable it, and noticed it won't let me do that.

I realize now something must be preventing it to allow unwanted changes to happen to my system. This is a big bad nono.

Anyhow, I need help removing this thing. Recently my PC had also mentioned some other infection...

Not sure if it got them, but I think this is where I got searchsettings from. Help anyone?
