 I am losing it!!!! Winrfixer has totally taken over my computer. Someone at work directed me to your site and although I see a million posts telling us how to get rid of it, I just can't get rid of it. I tried to run the instructions posted by D-Trojanator on 5/13/05, but it will not let me get past the first removal steps; ("the hijack this") download. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me, I cannot take it anymore. I spoke to an IT guy at work and he told me that this should definately work and I can't get past the first step.... Argh..... I am so mad. I depend on my home computer for work and shopping and being that it is the holiday season, I can't work and I can't shop, and while my 8 year old daughter was on the computer 2 nights ago a PORN pop-up appeared!!! With naked chic's and I didnt know how to explain what that was about, needless to say, I am pissed off. Please help, is there any other way to get rid of this thing? My computer is now slow as a snail and every website I go into kicks me out within 1 or 2 minutes of being on the site.
I appreciate your anticipated help with this matter, if I dont get rid of this they are going to have to put me in an institution somewhere!!
Where does this thing come from. My norton anti-virus protection says that it is working but it obviously cant be if all these things are coming through.
Please help ASAP!!! :flowers:

PS, I also attempted to install the webroot spysweeper, also unsuccessfully.

Nay7529: You could post a HiJackthis log in our HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum.
Before you do, please read and follow the instructions in the Preparation Guide for use before posting a HijackThis Log
