Audio not working

I recently got a internet connection in my house.Now,since that time i am unable to hear any sound from my computer.I have tried every troubleshooting option,i hv reinstalled the c-media audio driver but i9n vain.I have also tested my speakers on a different computer and they work perfectly.all the options in the sound and audio options are grayed out.my headphones also do not work.Please help me. I do not wish to reformat my system.

Check in the Device Manager to see if there is a problem with the audio drivers.

Go to Start> Run and type in or copy and paste mmc devmgmt.msc

Scroll down to Sound, games and video controllers. Click on the + to the left of this to expand the tree.

Did you run the Sound Troubleshooter from the Help menus?

yes i did the sound troubleshooter but no help there.The Os cannot detect any audio output.All the devices are showing as working properly in the device manager.Plz help

Try downloading the latest drivers from the manufactures website.

I got it from manufacturer's site but even after installing it sound wont cum
