Hello.. I have been a lurker for many years, first post. I am a network engineer and deal with this type of issue daily. But I have come across one I cant seem to beat. Combofix says that regedit.exe is infected, goes through the other steps fine and says it has completed. I have tried several other programs.. i.e. malwarebytes, sysclean, superantispyware, and some others.. My symptoms are that this system cannot be updated with service pack 2, or any other update. Sometimes while in safemode I am not able to execute any .exe file without the system saying that the file is corrupt. If I move the file to a know clean system, it runs fine. Any help is much appreciated!

Hello and welcome.
Having already run ComboFix you will need to do this.

Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9 which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
Skip the GMER step and instead post the ComboFix log you have.

Let me know if that went well.
