HI all,

Another new guy joints the throng. I am semi retired but work, from home here in the UK, as a technical author, keeping contact with my employers via the "net" and I am also an active church member doing much of the production minutes, notices, posters and service sheets as well as the accounts. Hence the computers at this this tend to be heavily worked and rather crucial.

I run 3 PCs in a permanent LAN, with 2 laptops that can be added and used as required. Currently one of the 3 PCs on the LAN is inoperative awaiting a repalcement drive but luckily this machine is the least used being on the LAN mainly for personal hobby use (Amateur Radio and Genealergy) rather than work. Of the other 2 machines one, with a dual screen, is the main work machine (for word processing, database etc. etc. ) both for work and personal tasks, while the second forms the main link to the "net" with E-mail, Skype etc. And the 2 mobiles - well one supplies a link to my employer's system through a VPN and the other iusually resides in the main house for personal use when I am to busy (idle ?) to go into the home-office and is used to take with me to meetingsfor use in presentations etc. I am normally in the home-office 9 - 4.30 most week days and ocassionally pop in at weekends to do church or personal work.

Until recently the whole system has worked as intended, withn only minor problems, but currently I am experiencing major problems with the PC running to the net. But that is the subject of another post.

For the moment Seasons Greetings (A Holy and Merry Christmas, and A Happy New Year) to you all.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
