I was infected with the System Tool 2011 last night. I have followed the directions in your removal tutorial, as well as some from other sites. (which all seem to be pretty much the same) However I STILL have the virus.

I have downloaded rkill and placed it on my desktop
I have downloaded and updated Malwarebytes

both while in safe mode with networking

When I run Rkill the log has no processes listed that were killed
I have done 2 full scans and 1 quick scan with MALB and it doesn't find any trojans or Rogues

When I go back to the normal version of my desktop system tool is still there.

What do I do?

@ jenniboomba :welcome: to the BC forums.

System Tool 2011 is proving a little stubborn, so please follow the instructions in the
Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help

When you have done that, post your log in the "Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum", NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team experts.

Please let us know, here, if you have been able to successfully start your new topic.

Split to a new topic. ALWAYS better to start your own topic to avoid dealing with multiple users in the same topic.
