When I attempt to do a manual update the process goes as fasr as where you choose "Express" or "Custom". Clicking either one does not bring on the searching of my installation for updates.

What needs to be done?

Thanks for the response.
I now realize that my problem is with "XP" that is loaded into VirtualMachineware-Player. The host machine runs Ws7.
Can you provide help under that circumstance?

The only thing I can point you to is the 'virtual' tutorials written by Brink http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/257-windows-7-tutorial-index.html#post1085

I decided to try auto updates with notification and no download nor installation. This morning I found that the large number of post SP3 updates (hotfixes) are waiting for my OK. I will proceed this way, at least until I can find a way to do manual updates.

Thanks for the link to the tutorials. I sure will look into them.
