I have a desktop computer with Windows XP. Can I install a program on one of the mini notebook computers with Windows 7 (the mini's don't have a cd/dvd drive) from my desktop computer?

You may be able to copy the program to a USB and then onto your Notebook - if the compatabilty is there for the notebook to run the "XP program".

You could try networking the two systems if you have a router
Then share the cdrom drive
I did that before once several years ago.
It worked but it wasnt fast
In the beginning there was the command line.

If you don't have the .exe/installation files...no.

Even if you copy files from one to the other...you won't have the appropriate registry entries to make it work.

Thank you for your replies.

Would an external cd/dvd drive work (assuming any program I wish to install on the mini is compatible with the operating system in the mini)?
