Yes, I played it. Yes, I returned it, or sold it depending on your view.

It is fun for the first dozen hours or so, but then the rubberbanding and cheating AI, along with balance issues, made the game very, very irritating. To keep my sanity, and my PS3 controller, I had to sell the game it was just so maddening.

Hi,

It seems that we have a different view on games, I am still thrilled with the game, and will keep playing it for a long time, especially cop part
Cop part is something unique it the game world! Especially weapons you have to use for busting the suspects! B)

As I said game is amazing, first with car numbers and models :thumbup2: , no other game can boast with such a list of cars, totally amazing!
Bugatti, meclaren, mercedes SLS AMG... :)

Regards,
Max

Don't get me wrong, I can see the merits of the game, a broad selection of cars and interesting tracks, but the problems overshadow the positives. Initially, I liked it because it reminded me of Burnout Paradise without the open world, but NFS seems different. What did it for me was a hot pursuit cop race, which is my favorite race in the game. I got to the end, put up a road block and called in just about everything to stop a racer. The racer flipped off the road and was upside down off the track. The game did not record that as a hit, instead, it teleported the racer back onto the road where it shot off at 200 mph hugging the yellow line around a very tight turn with almost no damage from the otherwise-race-ending (for them) crash. Don't even get me started about the rapid response missions...

Yes I know about that bug, and it's somethimes annoying. I got very nervous about that, but all that is forgotten when I finaly bust him after repeating the mission 15 times!
Hope you understand, when the player is thrilled with the game, there are no bug which can take you away from playing :)
I hope EA will release the patch about that, and you can play NFS normally :)
See you

With high regards,
Max

That doesn't really sound like a bug, but a design problem with the AI. Same thing with the rubber banding and the racers hugging the yellow line at speeds they should not be able to... in nearly a perfect straight line with other AI controlled cars. The damage model also seems far from fair, grinding a racer against the wall causes hardly any damage to them but every time you touch someone else, you take damage. Did I mention the rapid response missions? This review sums up my thoughts on the game. It is a good game, if you are willing to put up with a few problems. I did, for a time, then I sold it.

I played it enough to reach 11 in the cop missions, which does take time. It's a fun game, to a point.

The hot pursuit chases are my favorite in the game! There just aren't many of them, which is baffling considering the name of the game.

Yer i suppose so. I like the detail of the game but i can't max out my settings because of my graphics card on my laptop but i'm getting a Asus 5670 1GB for my desktop, so i hope i can max the settings out.

I got the game for the PS3 so I have no idea what it would look like on the PC. I got Burnout Paradise for the PC, which is a very good game too, and it looked amazing at higher levels. I wonder what Gran Turismo 5 would look like on the PC if Sony decided to port it...

I hope Sony does port it because Gran Turismo 5 is good realistic racing type of game and i enjoyed playing it on the PS3.

For now, Sony port it only for PS3!
We will se does it port for PC in future, but i doubt!
Kazunori Yamauchi, game creator, was told that players will soon might watch the races from GT5, and even to use some simple commands like going to PIT stop and passing by the other players in race!
Of course you wil still have to start the game on your PS3!

Max

Welcome to the forums!

Gran Turismo 5 has more cars, I think, but that is a strict racing sim rather than an arcade racer. Try getting first place in all of the rapid response missions for a real challenge.
