I have Win XP Media Center sp3. I have all of the updates with Avg,Zone Alarm, Spy Bot and Ad Aware. I am unable to start my computer in safe mode. I get the green screen of death with IRQL_Not_Less_OR_Equal.I can start Win but not in safe mode. Are my system files corrupted? What should I do ?

Please post the full content of the error message, if possible.

Different approach time :).

Let's try this.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When scanning is done, Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

Now the BSOD, not the green screen of death, shows the following error messages:
0X0000000A( 0XF79A6354 0X000000FF 0X00000001 0X804E5639

Please...run the utility I previously linked and post the data.

Error messages are often generic. In themselves, they do little more than point to the part of the system in pain. If I can see the detail revealed by BlueScreenView...I can at least attempt to make somewhat intelligent guesses at what may be wrong with your system.
