I had downloaded Playitall Media player to view a demo DVD and after uninstalling, alost all of my shortcuts were unusable as they had an .lnk extension attached to them. For some reason, this did not affet Outlook or Internet Explorer icons so they are still up and running. The other programs affected, i.e., word, excel, quicken, etc. all run if I open them from the exe file in an Explorer window. I then did a dumb thing and tried to associate the powerpoint shortcut (from the lisitng in the Progam menu) to its exe file via the "Open With" dialog box. Now all files w/ that had an lnk extension have a powerpoint icon that I cannot change or dis-associate. I know nothing about the real "innards" of this thing called a computer and would appreciate any help or suggestions you could offer. Thanks
