Browser links being redirected

First post. I am not sure which tool I need to use to find out why I am getting redirected to different sites when I click on search results (Google). For instance, I searched for "mtu settings linux" and selected a result that should have taken me to one site but I was redirected to a paycheck loan site. Any suggestions? This is IE8 on Vista x32.
