Hello, it seems that I've been hit with something similar to many recent users. I would very much appreciate any assistance you can provide me.

My Google search results appear normal, but when I click links I am sometimes brought to random ad sites. The problem has gotten progressively more frequent since it started yesterday. I can avoid the redirect by opening links in a new tab instead of left-clicking. Redirect sites include:
zanetraceboosterclub.com
sunshinemortgageusa.com
6topsearches.com
raueinsider.com
julieweightloss.com
japanexpatriates.com
neokill.com
shopcompareus.com
craizer-warez.org
paydayinstantly.com
sierravidaverda.com
junobeachhomesforsale.org
infomash.org
crediteffort.com
bhoodinc.com
98kplus.com
colelists.com

I ran a series of scans yesterday, but I'm still left with the problem after the following:

Malwarebytes found:
-Spyware.Passwords.XGen [2 instances]
-Trojan.Agent [2 instances]
-PUM.Hijack.StartMenu
-Heuristics.Reserved.Word.Exploit [2 instances]

Then Ad-Aware found:
-Win32.TrojanDownloader.Mufanom/A
-Trojan.Win32.Hiloti.ba(v)

While Ad-Aware was running, Symantec Corporate notified that it found:
-Trojan.Zefarch [2 instances]

A full scan of Symantec found the same thing again, but after a reboot and another full scan, nothing was found. However, the browser redirect is still occurring. I have seen that (along with some recommendations to other users) Java should be updated, but I don't believe that I'm going to be able to do that because of a proprietary application we're using.

Attached are my DDS and GMER logs, but I made a couple of minor edits for security purposes. Please let me know if that creates any problems:
-DDS.txt & ark.log - my username has been replaced with "LUSER"
-Attach.txt - This is not attached since the content of the file said not to unless specifically instructed to.

Below is the text output of DDS. I will not take any further corrective actions until I hear from someone here. Thank you for your help in advance.

UPDATE: When restarting my computer, I get a RunDLL error box which says "Error loading C:\WINDOWS\igutufoq.dll The specified module could not be found." I believe that this belongs to the trojan that Symantec removed.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review your topic an do their best to resolve your issues.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

We also need a new log from the GMER anti-rootkit scanner. Please first disable any CD emulation programs using the steps found in this topic:

Why we request you disable CD Emulation when receiving Malware Removal Advice

Then create another GMER log and post it as an attachment to the reply where you post your new DDS log. Instructions on how to properly create a GMER log can be found here:

How to create a GMER log

Thanks.

DR

Hello,

Thank you for the reply, though I believe that I have already fixed my problem.

I very much appreciate the fact that you all are doing this on a volunteer basis, but I could not afford to wait.

Thank you again.
