Hey, just wanted to pop in and say that the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool scan picked up on the culprit and I seem to be problem free now. One thing that I should mention is that the choices I was given for Scan results - Select action for found objects were Skip, Quarantine, and Delete, with Skip being the default.

What should I be doing to prevent this from happening again? I steer away from shady sites and I know not to hit Okay or Continue unless I'm sure that I can trust the software. I'm running AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011, but it didn't pick up on this latest snafu. I like to think I'm pretty Internet savvy, but what other advice can you give?

EDIT: Forgot to say this: Thank you, boopme! I really appreciate you guys who volunteer to help those of us who don't have the skills or experience :grinner:

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
