Hi there-

Just want to preface that this is for my mom's computer.

I had the virus on my computer and was able to use rkill and then Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove it successfully.

A few days later my mom got it. All the same fake errors about fatal hard disk errors etc.

I ran the rkill and Malwarebytes on her computer and it seemed to work. Then she started having audio (music and commercials) in a seemingly invisible IE window.

All the same fake errors are back. Have ran rkill and Mwb over and over. On restart, fake errors still pop up.

I ran DDS. Will post log below. Ran GMER and it started to run, than BSOD after a couple of minutes. Listed kgldrpog.sys.

Thanks so much in advance!!

Somethings to remember while we are working together.

  • Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
  • Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  • Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  • Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.

Hi there. Thanks for your response. I did manage to solve it myself. The problem was there were 2 things going on at the same time. The Hard Drive Defrag situation AND the Google Redirect Virus. In case it might help someone, I had to use the TDSSKiller from Kaspersky to get rid of the Google Redirect, as Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware didn't pick it up.

All seems well now.

Thank you guys for the forum!
