Does anyone know how to update the firmware or codec pack on a storex club mpix 355 multimedia hard drive?

I have a storex club m-pix 355 that worked fine but lately it keeps throwing up an error saying codec not supported when I put new movies on it. I've tried the storex site but they're useless, does anyone know how to update the codecs on this box so that it'll play the movies?
