Problem With Mouse Cursor.

I hope I'm putting this in the right forum. My cursor is acting like it would normally if it were in MS Word; whenever I click it on the screen (say where there's text or near pictures), it becomes a blinking black line.

Antivirus: AVG
Spyware blocker: Ad-aware 6
Firewall: I'm not sure, honestly.:thumbsup:
Also I'm using Firefox 1.0.7
