Trend Mirco Virus Protection (was current when trojan was acquired)
-There are other PCs using the same router/internet access with no problem.
-Connection settings are all set to AUTO(The 1st time I tried reset the connection I got online for a moment then was block again - no luck since)
-I get immediate response back from pinging server using CMD prompt
-I cannot update any software, including Windows XP and Trend Micro
-I cannot browse the internet
So far as I can tell there are no other symptoms. The PC boots and runs fine - just have ports blocked

Gave up with emails to TrendMicro and got someone on the phone. The trojan keeps changing my proxy settings and turning off services. I was able to get updates for TrendMicro and change the settings back (for about the 5th time) Running another full scan now...kinda afraid to reboot. Sorry for being impatient and not waiting for a reply here. I am under some pressure to resolve this asap. BTW, I cleaned up most of the symptoms from reading the posts here. I am just not savvy enough to find ALL of the places these little buggers make changes, but I am learning.
I have found a lot more on the machine... several viruses quarantined and trojans. I deleted the files, rebooted and am running another full scan.
Got browser access back and I can update TrendMicro ...but still cannot update Office Products
