Hello all,another problem here.My Grandson has a Toshiba laptop with Windows XP Home Edition.It was given to him 3 years ago and he never updated it.I cleaned out all the malware and spyware and it runs rather well.I went to download and install service pack 3 from the MS website and it failed on 3 different occasions.How can I solve this problem,thanx,Tony.

Are you receiving an error message with these failures?

There are a couple of ways to install SP3, since I don't know which method you used I'll just suggest that you read this Microsoft article.

No error message,just says update failed.I am using windows update,Tony.

Did you read the article?

Are you following those guide lines?

Usually if the update fails there will be an error message explaining why this has occurred. All the error read was update failed?

Try downloading it from the Microsoft download center rather that the update.
