My computer crashed and i have tried to use the restore partition as well as the restore disks and every time i try to use them my comp freezes up and will not let me go any further. Should i just wipe my hard drive clean and use the restore disks or is there something else i should try.
Any help or suggestions would be great.

you need to do a recovery not a restore, if your partition does not have that option you will have to do a clean install.

Do you get any kind of errors? Have you tried to boot into Safe Mode?
