I have an Asus G7G2X, I've had it for under 6 months.
At first, I didn't know what the problem was, it had just started to freeze whenever it wanted. I put it in safe mode, and put it in selective start up. Only picked the programs that were ultimately necessary. It stopped freezing. I opened YIM, since it had been one of the programs I had deselected, and it froze. I uninstalled YIM, reinstalled it, opened the program; froze once more. I ended up going on a site called Meebo, so I could fulfill my IM needs, and it froze. I then went onto webmessenger.yahoo.com and it's completely fine. Finally, just now, I tried to run a streaming program from livestream.com and it decided to freeze. Something odd that also happens that I haven't noticed before with other computer that freezes is that the sound/music makes an annoying "EEEEEE" when it happens. Just to specify, the screen dosen't go black, it looks like a screen shot.

Here are my System specs:
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53 GHz
Installed Memory: 6.00 GB
And it's a 64-bit OS

Are all drivers up to date? What Anti-virus program are you using?

Does it freeze only, when you use some program requiring internet connection?

Yeah, it only freezes when I need to input a user name and password. I ran a messenger in safe mode with networking and it ran fine.
