There are two ways:

Download TweakUI from microsoft here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx

Install it and run it from c:\windows\system32\tweakui.exe

Or go to the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load

and add a string value with the name of the control panel you do not want to load and give it a value of no.

That will then hide the control panel icon for that particular user. For example to hide the add/remove programs you would add the string value of appwiz.cpl and make it the value of no.

Here is a brief listing of control panels:

desk.cpl
intl.cpl
sysdm.cpl
appwiz.cpl
hdwwiz.cpl
inetcpl.cpl
joy.cpl
main.cpl
mmsys.cpl
ncpa.cpl
nusrmgr.cpl
odbccp32.cpl
powercfg.cpl
telephon.cpl
timedate.cpl
access.cpl
QuickTime.cp
wuaucpl.cpl
jpicpl32.cpl
