All you have to do is create a new folder then rename it and press "Alt + 225" on your keyboard. The name will be invisible!
After that, change the folder's icon to blank by going to Properties -> Customize -> Change Icon and choosing the blank icon. Done!

Hi max7bg,
Press and hold Alt on your keyboard, then press 2, and then 5, and another 5, and release the Alt button.

Yes,

I create a folder like you said, and rename it to Max
Then hold alt + 2 + 2 +5, and it's not working
I tried alt + 2 + 5 + 5, it also not working...
It doesn't matter... :thumbup2:

It would be more interesting if you hide it also.

Only explorer won't see it, but if you use another one, like total comander, you will see it.

The problem, at least in Vista, is that you then can't delete it. And the transparent icon can intermittently turn black, so you have a strange black square sitting on your desktop.
You can get rid of it by deleting it's parent folder, but don't want to do that if it's sitting on your desktop!

You can also remove it from the command line.
Using the dir /x command within the parent folder to get the short file name. You're probably looking at something like 0A00~1.
Then type rmdir shortfilename to get rid of it.
Quod non mortiferum, fortiorem me facit.
I don't read minds. Please help everyone by answering any questions and reporting on the results of any instructions. Query any concerns and explain problems or complications.

This tip dates from DOS times and works in DOS better because you cannot see any folder ICON in the console.
